There is a  two part process for becoming a member of the Hessen Patrol.

  1.  Candidates are required to attend OEC classes, every Tuesday and Thursday evenings, from September until November. At the completion of the classroom course work, candidates will be required to pass two OEC scenarios administered by OEC instructors and examiners.

2.  From the classroom, OTH (On-The-Hill)  training begins from January to March.

If you are a skier or snowboarder.... each candidate is screened by a European Division examiner to assess the level of skiing/boarding proficiency. Basic ski/snowboard level ability is the standard measure of skiing/snowboarding expectations for running a patient-loaded rescue sled.
